There was some early concerns that the breakfast attendance may have been down, as the hours for the breakfast were shortened this year, but by 9:30 a.m., the Mount Vernon High School cafeteria was pretty full.

Mount Vernon boys will start the postseason with a game against Mount Pleasant Monday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. The winner fo that game will advance to face the winner of the Marion and Keokuk match Thursday, Feb. 24. The finals for the post season playoffs will be Monday, Feb. 28 at Muscatine at 7 p.m.v

Where plaster has been removed in areas of the building, cracking can be seen in some of the interior stone and brickwork as well from the weight of the roof moving off of some of the trusses.
