One project that will be finished on time for the start of the school year is the work on the elementary playground and Teeling Court.
A donation of time and extra turf will benefit the playground. Excavators have finished work on proper drainage tiling and placing new turf on the playground. When completed, the project will have a turf field, gaga ball pit, two tetherball courts and multiple four square courts.
“This is an improvement that respects Teeling Court and all our students who utilize that space,” superintendent Autumn Pino said.
Elementary principal Justin Brown said he is extremely appreciative of the work of the organizers, Adam Morgan and John Prasil as well as other volunteers that have gone into this project.
“This is a reality because these members of our community are donating their time to install the proper drainage as an act of community service,” Brown said. “I’m incredibly appreciative, especially thinking how many people this serves. It’s a big deal to our students, and there are a number of people excited to see this work being completed.”
The rock, used turf, concrete for the tetherball court, tetherball supplies and GaGa ball pit were paid for via Walk-A-Thon funds. All other expenses are coming from other sources.
