The Mount Vernon Alumni Association is hosting a Fun Run on Friday, July 10, at 8 p.m. This will be an untimed, fun run of approximately 2.4 miles. Alumni association board members Bill Thomsen (Class of 1971) and Cathy Hufford (Class of 1983) wanted to bring a run back to Heritage Days.

Mount Vernon has a strong running community, and the hope is to entice all runners and walkers, of any skill level, to participate. This fun run will start and finish at the Martha Parson’s Activity Complex and will not have any hills! The course will incorporate the grounds of all three schools. The run will be finished in time to watch the drone show and enjoy some ice cream malts that will be sold by the Alumni Association at the drone show. Early registration before June19 offers the opportunity to purchase a fun run t-shirt. Cost is $10 plus $1.29 processing fee.
