In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, the Lisbon History Center has an exhibit on display in the front room that is open to the public from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, as well as from Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Lisbon History Center, which typically has a United States Military display in the back of the Center, which includes items donated to the center by Lisbon and Mount Vernon veterans, or families of the veterans.
The Lisbon History Center has pulled items from the U.S. Military display in the back room, as well as storage from the basement, to place in the 250th Anniversary of America display in the front room.
Items in the display include Bob Caspers’ uniform jacket from his time as a U.S. Marine, a silk handkerchief brought home to Mount Vernon resident, Karl West’s mom, when he returned home from fighting in World War I, an Iwo Jima diorama, war medals, and so on.
The exhibit is open to the public during the Lisbon History Center’s business hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Visitors can see the exhibit through Sauerkraut Days Aug. 13 through 15, 2026.
