Lisbon boys’ golf team closed its season at a Class 2A Sectional on Wednesday, May 13, at Tipton Golf and Country Club.

Tipton (305), Mediapolis (318) and Central Lee (318) advanced to Districts. Lisbon finished fourth, carding a 344.

However, Adrian Armstrong and Fletcher Hove had the top scores from players not on Tipton, Mepo or Central Lee, so they get to play on at Districts at Heritage Oaks in Mediapolis on Tuesday, May 19.

“Our perfect plan ‘B,'” Lisbon Coach Cameron Eichhorn said. “They both carded really good rounds.”

Armstrong had a strong back nine. After shooting 43 on the front, he turned in a 39 on the back. And Hove had to deal with stomach cramps.

“On holes 5 to 10, he couldn’t take a full swing,” Eichhorn said. “Without those, he would’ve scored much better.”

The District was scheduled for Monday, but was pushed back due to rain.
