Lisbon will be jumping into a new conference in the new school year, and they’ll be doing so with a new seventh through 12th grade activities director.
Lisbon School Board approved the job description for the activities director May 13.
Superintendent Autumn Pino said the district already has 23 applicants for the position.
Brandon Horman, middle school activities director, said that the applicants pool could be coming from those looking for more administrator experience and like activities.
“Obviously, some of the applicants are looking to relocate to this area for this job,” Horman said. “It’s exciting to have this large number of applicants for the position.”
Horman said that the salary range could change some of the applicants in the end.
“It’s substantive enough for what the job requires,” Horman said. “As we’re moving between 2A on the smaller side or 1A on the larger side.”
The district also selected the new elementary nurse, replacing Julie Light who has held the position for a number of years. Olivia Montag has accepted the position as school nurse for the district.
“We knew replacing Julie was going to be a big step, as she is well known and connected,” Pino said.
The district had a list of the requirements for the job from the state, as well as preferred qualifications on top of those.
The district had two administrators serving on the hiring pool, as well as a few impartial staff members to sit in on interviews and give their ranked preference of candidates.
