As Charlie Sheen says: “Winning.”
The Lisbon girls’ golf team did a lot of that last week, winning two duals and taking the title at the Washington Invitational on Monday, May 4.
The Lions carded a 335, far outpacing second-place Highland (374) at Washington Golf & Country Club.
Kyla Kahl was the meet medalist with an 82, and was followed by Carie Johnson (83), Morgan Sauser (84) and Abby Bock (86).
“Our top 4 placed in the top 4, and that is always good,” Lisbon Coach Andy Kahl said. “For me, our short game stood out that day.”
Lisbon then beat Bellevue Marquette on Thursday, May 7, at Bellevue Golf Club, 168 to 222. Sauser led with a 40, followed by Avery Thurn with a 41.
“It was a new course to most of the team, and Avery really came through,” Kahl said.
The Lions then carded a 169 on Friday, May 8, at Kernoustie Golf Course against an incomplete team from Calamus-Wheatland to wrap up the week.
“Our final home meet, and Morgan started at 3-under after three holes, which you rarely see,” Kahl said. “We recognized our seniors, Abby Bock and Grace Bausch.”
