The Linn County Secondary Road Department and S2 Construction are removing trees and brush along County roads in the public right-of-way. Removing extra vegetation helps improve safety for drivers, makes it easier to see around curves and intersections, improves drainage, and makes it easier for road crews to maintain the roads. The County will not remove trees that are covered under existing tree agreements.
The work is taking place in District 3, which includes the townships of Boulder, Brown, Buffalo, Maine, and Marion. View a map of Linn County’s road districts on the Linn County website.
Drivers should watch for “Road Work Ahead” signs, crews working and using equipment in ditches, and occasional lane impacts. All roads will stay open during the project.
Property owners should remember that any vegetation planted in the right-of-way may be removed. Property owners should place new plantings well within private property to avoid future problems.
