CENTER POINT, Iowa — June 5 — Linn County 4H and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach invite the public to celebrate the grand reopening of the Fross Park Community Garden on Thursday, June 5, during Center Point Pork Days.
The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 PM to officially reopen the garden and recognize recent revitalization efforts. The event will take place at Fross Park and is open to families, gardeners, and Center Point Pork Days attendees.
The Fross Park Community Garden serves as a hands-on learning space for Linn County 4H members. During the event, 4H youth will lead garden-related activities, sharing what they have learned. Visitors will also find information about how to get involved in 4H.
“This garden is a great example of youth leadership and community collaboration,” said Zoe Roos, Linn County Youth Coordinator. “Our 4H members have played a key role in revitalizing this space, and we’re excited to celebrate their work with the community.”
Linn County 4H extends heartfelt appreciation to the Pointer Planters 4H Club and the Washington Busy Beavers 4H Club for their dedication and hard work. The project was made possible through the generous support of the Iowa 4H Foundation and the 4H Forward Grant, whose investment in youth development helped bring this space back to life and expand opportunities for hands-on learning and community engagement.
Community members are encouraged to stop by during Pork Days to celebrate the reopening, meet local 4H youth and volunteers, and learn more about the community garden and 4H programs.
