William Elliot was injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy. 30 and Cedar River Road Monday, May 4. Elliot was transported to University of Iowa hospital by Lisbon Mount Vernon Ambulance Services with non-life threatening injuries. Elliot was cited for no insurance and failure to yield upon entering a highway.

According to Sgt. Cole Burns of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were paged to the crash at 3:03 p.m.

Responders found that a 1995 Cadillac Deville driven by Elliot was attempting to merge onto Hwy. 30 from Cedar River Road, and the vehicle was struck by a 2014 F-150 driven by Cyrus Zangerle.

Linn County Rescue 57, Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police and Mount Vernon Fire Department also responded to the scene.
