The Lisbon boys’ track team finished third at the Tiger Relays on Tuesday, April 21, in Tipton. The were second at the Ron Maxson Relays on Thursday, April 23, in West Liberty.
Sawyer Feldman won both the 3,200 and 1,600, and Anthony Armstrong won the 800 as the Lions dominated the distance events in Tipton.
“It was a double day for Sawyer,” Lisbon coach Lonnie Spiedel said. “In the 3,200 he didn’t really have anyone to run with, so he was out there all by himself. And still got his season best.”
The Lions also won the 4×800 with Brody Speidel, Drayden Nunemaker, Kyler Happel and Anthony Armstrong.
“Our distance guys have led us all year, and will continue to do so,” Speidel said.
At West Liberty, Armstrong won the 1,600 and Happel and Tate Petersen were 2-3 in the 3,200.
“Kyler was a little banged up coming out of wrestling, and is still working his way back,” Speidel said. “I’m excited to see what he can do.”
