AJ Shay McFarland, 35, of Mount Vernon was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 151 at the intersection with Hwy. 1 Monday, April 6. Michael Duncomb, 66, of Anamosa was injured in the crash.

According to Sgt. Lancaster with the Iowa State Patrol, McFarland was northbound on Hwy. 151 in a 2012 Ford Fusion and for some unknown reason crossed the median on Hwy. 1. McFarland’s vehicle was broadsided by the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado operated by Duncomb, who was southbound on Hwy. 151.

The accident was assisted by Anamosa Fire and multiple other agencies and remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
