Lisbon Car Wash is open and under new ownership.
A ribbon cutting was held for the business on Monday, March 30 in downtown Lisbon by the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group ambassadors.
Brandon Pence and his wife, Alex, as well as their children Harpr, Benelli and Lakelyn, were present to cut the ribbon on the establishment.
Brandon said that he also owns and manages Sparkling Image Car Wash in Cedar Rapids, a full service car wash.
The Lisbon Car Wash will be open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
“The bays have in floor heating, so it can operate at all times,” Brandon said.
The process of purchasing and improving the car wash has taken roughly a year to complete, but Brandon and his family want to be involved in many of the events in Lisbon.
He is also looking into the possibility of an auto car wash in one of the bays.
“I don’t know if that is feasible with the height of the current ceiling in one of the bays,” Brandon said. “We’ll be visiting with the city.”
Other improvements they are looking at include moving the vacuum bay towards the front of the store, improved lighting and work on the asphalt or concrete at the front of the building. Those repairs may come as business at the car wash starts picking up again as well.
He is also working on making sure the car washes provided match the quality he expects before rolling out to tokens that can be redeemed at the car wash.
The car wash does utilize credit card swipers for paying for car washes, which Brandon viewed as a convenience to everyone.
And while Brandon hasn’t lived in Lisbon, he was frequently someone hanging out with the wrestlers at Lisbon during his high school days.
“I was the Cedar Rapids Prairie kid that would pop up out here all the time,” Brandon said.
Alex owns a hair salon in Cedar Rapids, and their children are enrolled at the Linn-Mar School District, but they are all excited to add this car wash to their business holdings.
