MV, Lisbon parks and recreation summer ball league registration

Mount Vernon and Lisbon Parks and Recreation registration deadlines are coming up for summer ball leagues Monday, April 13 for pitch softball and baseball and May 1 for T-ball, intro to t-ball and coach pitch.

Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation is offering summer t-ball and coach pitch for youth in grades AK through second grade, player pitch softball for girls in grades third through sixth and player pitch baseball for boys in grades third through sixth. Lisbon is offering pitch baseball for boys in grades third through sixth, pitch softball for girls in grades third through sixth and intro to t-ball, t-ball and coach pitch for grades kindergarten through third.

Forms are available online at www.cityoflisbon-ia.gov or in person at City Hall. Please return the player information form along with a signed waiver to the City Hall offices. Coach pitch baseball and softball for first and second graders will be split into all male and all female teams this year, while t-ball will remain co-ed.

Teeling Memorial Walk-A-Thon

The sixth annual Teeling Memorial Walk-A-Thon will be held Friday, May 15, in Lisbon.

All proceeds from the 2026 Walk-A-Thon will go towards finishing playground improvements including a shade pavilion, picnic tables and additional equipment.

All family, friends, and community members are welcome as we walk together, celebrate Mr. Teeling’s legacy, and make a positive impact for future generations.

Lisbon Community Blood Drive

A Lisbon Community Blood Drive will be held Monday, April 13, from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Lisbon High School Cafeteria. To book your appointment, call ImpactLife at 1-800-747-5401. Donors need to weigh at least 110 pounds, be age 16 (with parental consent if under 18), and have a photo identification.

Mount Vernon Middle School Lip sync battle

The Mount Vernon Middle School lip-sync battle will be held Monday, April 13, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Middle School Auditorium. Admission is $5 and proceeds will help with improvements to the sound system in the middle school auditorium.
