Mount Vernon Girls’ Wrestling team placed fourth overall as a team, and had both a state champion and runner-up at this year’s state wrestling tournament.

Gracie Pinckney was crowned state champion in Class 1A in the 170-pound division at the state wrestling tournament. Addi Whisner was the runner up in the Class 1A 145-pound division at the state wrestling tournament.

Kiersten Swart was fourth in 110 pounds, Kate Martin was fourth in 105 pounds, and Kaylee Kintzel was seventh place. Read the full story on the tournament in Sports.
