Mount Vernon earned 18 Division I ratings and five Division II ratings at State Large Group Speech contest at Clear Creek-Amana High School Saturday, Feb. 7. All-State nominations were to be released Monday afternoon, after press deadline and will be noted next week. The team is coached by Grant Freeman and Tawnua Tenley, with assistance by Amy White, Trevor Baty and Mary Horst. A speech showcase will be held Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Performing Arts Center.
