In 2022, Janet Evanovich–author of the popular Stephanie Plumb series–started a new series with a novel called The Recovery Agent. Fast-paced and action-packed, the plot centers on Gabriela Rose, a special agent who travels the world recovering lost items for a price. (Think Indiana Jones in designer heels.) Now Evanovich has written a second novel in the series–The King’s Ransom. In this novel, Gabriela is trying to help her ex-husband’s cousin who has been wrongfully accused of stealing great works of historical value – a solid gold sarcophagus, for example. In this globe-trotting mystery, Evanovich has put together a wonderful cast of characters and a great plot, then added her wonderful sense of humor. If you enjoyed The Recovery Agent, you are going to love Book Two in the series–The King’s Ransom.
