Mount Vernon Lions Club

The Mount Vernon Lions Club met on Monday, January 26 at the Stewart Baxter Funeral Home. Mark Andresen organized the program which was a presentation by Nicole McAlexander, the executive director of the Southeast Linn Community Center. Nicole briefly touched on the various programs offered by the Center. They include the food pantry, meals on wheels, senior dining, senior transportation, kids activities, community gardens, clothing closet, kids parks and rec and LBC passes, holiday food baskets, school supplies and crisis support. She also talked about the summer meals program which the Lions helped with on occasion that served 2,666 lunches this last year.

The next Lions club program will be on February 23 when Mike Cranston will have the program.
