Lisbon girls’ basketball put itself in position to play for a Tri-Rivers East title this week.
Not too shabby.
The Lions beat Easton Valley, 47-31, on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at home and beat Prince of Peace, 52-12, on Friday, Jan. 23, in Clinton.
Lisbon improved to 10-7 overall and 8-1 in the Tri-Rivers East.
“Anytime you are 8-1 in league play, you are doing pretty good,” Lisbon coach Jack Leighty said. “The kids deserve it. They have worked their butts off and it has been a long, grueling season.
“I think it has been a while since Lisbon has been in this situation.”
Against the River Hawks, Kamryn Kahl had 15 points and eight steals, and Morgan Sauser had 12 points and six assists.
Against the Irish, Sauser had 12 points, Kamryn Kahl had 11 points to go with five assists, four rebounds and four steals, and Kyla Kahl had 11 points. Quinn Roos had eight point and Ava Ahrendsen had 10 rebounds.
Lisbon started the week with a non-conference loss to West Branch, 43-38, on Monday, Jan. 19.
“That was a low-energy game, and the results showed,” Leighty said.
Kamryn Kahl had 17 points and eight rebounds.
