Officers David Frankfurt and Lucas Wagner were sworn into the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department Monday, Jan. 19.
Frankfurt was sworn in having completed his time at the academy. He had previously taken an oath of office as a reserve officer with the department as well. His dad, Jeff Frankfurt was a former officer on the force and made the 700-mile drive to be present for his son swearing in as a full-time officer.
Wagner serves as the park ranger at Palisades-Kepler State Park in Mount Vernon. Wagner will spend his part-time hours during the winter assisting the police department, as managing the park takes up the majority of his time in the late spring through early fall months.
