Lisbon boys’ basketball went 1-2 last week, picking up a win Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Starmont, 54-43, and falling Monday, Jan. 12 at Easton Valley, 57-40, and Friday, Jan. 16, at Calamus-Wheatland, 63-48.
At Easton Valley, Tyler Kubovec had 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Against Starmont, Kubovec had 22 points, Ian Whittenbaugh had eight points and 12 rebounds, and Carew Kamaus added eight points.
“After two long road trips, back-to-back, the team performed a lot better at Starmont,” Lisbon coach Levi Montague said. “We came out ready to go and they shared the ball much better than we have all year.”
Montague said the Lions made free throws to seal the win.
C-W made things difficult with their full court press, forcing 29 turnovers. Kubovec had 14 points and Whittenbaugh had 11 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.
“There’s a reason they only have one loss,” Montague said. “It is their ability to turn teams over with pressure. They are a physical team.”
Lisbon fell to 6-9 overall, and 4-4 in the Tri-Rivers.
