The Friends of Palisades-Kepler State Park is one of the 2025 recipients of a State Parks of Iowa Fund.
The Friends of Palisades-Kepler State Park applied for $1,500 to put toward updating benches within the park. At the November board meeting, the Friends voted to purchase an eight foot bench for the alcove under the lodge. This bench will allow patrons to relax and view the river, and take pictures when renting the lodge.
The State Parks of Iowa Fund is supported by Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation (INHF). The goal of the fund is “to help alleviate funding issues and support conservation and facility improvements at Iowa’s State Parks and Forest.” State Parks of Iowa Fund falls under the umbrella of the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation.
