Two Sunday fires under investigation by Mount Vernon Fire Department

Two Sunday, Dec. 14, fires remain under investigation by the Mount Vernon Fire Department and Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

The first fire call came from the Jean Litts residence at 706 Ivanhoe Road, to a machine shed. Responding agencies included Linn County Sheriff Deputies, Mount Vernon Fire, Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service, Lisbon Fire Department, Ely Fire, Springville Fire and Solon Fire Department. No one was injured in the incident and the fire was contained to the machine shed.

The second fire call came to a machine shed at 5 Linn Ridge Road, on a property owned by Michael and Michelle Day at 8:10 a.m. Responding agencies included Linn County Sheriff Deputies, Springville Fire, Lisbon Fire, Martelle Fire, and Anamosa Fire. The fire was again contained to the machine shed and there were no injuries.
