Braydon Osborn, 20, Central City and Eric Barker, 44, Cedar Rapids were injured in a three-vehicle crash along Mount Vernon Road Monday, Dec. 4. Both were transported to a local hospital by Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Sgt. Chad Watkinson of Linn County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were paged to a vehicle crash along Mount Vernon Road near O’Connor Road at 6:07 p.m.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to discover a vehicle driven by Osborn was traveling westbound on W Mount Vernon Rd near O’Connor Rd when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Barker. A third vehicle driven by Kortney Newhouse, 25, of Marion, was westbound and failed to stop in time and struck Osborn’s vehicle. Newhouse was uninjured.
Other agencies reporting included Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department and Mount Vernon Fire Department.
