The first of two shop small weekends kicked off in Mount Vernon Saturday, Nov. 8. Mount Vernon Bank and Trust was offering free community bucks beginning at 9 a.m. sharp, and had a line of roughly 50 before the hot cocoa and gift certificates were handed out. Shopping crowds looked to be beating the adverse weather in the forecast, with crowds hitting multiple shopping locations to kick off shopping small this weekend.
Mount Vernon has a second Shop Small Saturday planned for Saturday, Nov. 29 (the Saturday following Thanksgiving).
