Robert Wayne “Bob” Niederhauser, 95, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully at home Oct. 3, 2025.

He was born Feb. 13, 1930 to Roy and Dorothy (Blink) Niederhauser. Bob lived a long and full life devoted to friends, community, and family.
He is survived by nine children: Mary Lynn Altshuler (John), William Niederhauser (Priscilla), Jerry Niederhauser (Nancy), John Niederhauser (Charlotte), Chiara Burke (Matt), Rob Niederhauser (Julie), Molly Jo Wolfe (Douglas), Lisa Oelrich (Buck), and Polly Ann Blythe (Bob). Also surviving are two stepsons: William Durchenwald (Stacia) and James Durchenwald (Christen Sowards). His legacy also lives on through 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, who were the joy of his life. Other survivors include two brothers, Gerald and Richard, special cousins, Donna Wolken and Merl Niederhauser, several generations of nieces and nephews, and many grand-dogs, as well as several special friends, including Bill Werderman, his auction buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Leota Ann Niederhauser, and sisters-in-law, Denise and Kate.
