The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group, a Main Street Iowa organization, is excited to announce the return of popular fall events! From community networking and a variety of entertainment, there’s something for everyone.

Community Leaders Breakfast

Thursday, Oct. 16, 7:30-9 a.m. at Bon Appétit, Smith Dining Hall

All community members are welcome to attend the first Community Leaders Breakfast at Thomas Commons on Cornell College’s campus. Enjoy breakfast and hear updates from our schools, city halls, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. It is a fantastic way to stay engaged with the community!

Music on Main at the First Street Community Center

Saturday, Oct. 18, 7-9 p.m. – Eddie Piccard Quartet with The Busch Brothers

Saturday, Oct. 25, 7:30-9 p.m. – Amy Friedl Presents Country Royalty

Both Music on Main events are “bring your own beverage” and must be in an Uptown Theatre cup, which can be purchased at the concert for $5. Free lemonade and popcorn will also be available, graciously sponsored by First Street Community Center.

“The end of the calendar year is a particularly busy time for the CDG as we execute and promote local events,” stated Executive Director Jessie Thurn. “Our volunteers are continually refining these signature events and exploring new marketing strategies to attract a larger audience.”
