LISBON—The Lisbon City Council voted Monday, Sept. 22, to approve a grant request from Indulgence Salon owner Laura Baxa for renovations at her business located at 111 E. Main St.

Indulgence Salon, first established in 2005, is undergoing updates as part of the city’s Downtown Reinvestment Grant Program. The cost of the renovation project is $9,706.91. Baxa requested $4,806.91 in grant funding to help preserve the building by replacing the aging floors with new materials from Anamosa Home Decorating in Anamosa.

Simpson Construction will complete the floor replacement. In her grant application, Baxa wrote, “I, the property owner, will be paying for all expenses that are not considered by the city.”

Following discussion, the council approved the request, allowing Indulgence Salon to move forward with its renovation plans.
