The glorious fall weather definitely helped the Lisbon Fire Department’s Labor Day pancake breakfast turnout.
Beginning at 8 a.m., the line for the breakfast was steady and stretching to city hall council chambers more than once. Early estimates are 1,600 served and more than $15,000 raised for the department.
Firefighters served up pancakes, eggs, sausage, hash browns (with or without cheese) and choice of beverage. If there weren’t firefighters helping at the serving lines, they were manning the griddles outside cooking up the hash browns and sausage or preparing the fresh eggs to be used on the griddles.
The breakfast was served from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lisbon Fire Department.
