Mount Vernon Robotics
The Mount Vernon Robotics program welcomes anyone interested in learning more about their instructional fifth grade robotics program, their sixth – eighth grade middle school State Champions program, or their Numerous Worlds qualifying ninth through 12th high school program at an upcoming meeting Monday, Sept. 8, 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center Lobby. Fifth through twelfth graders must have a parent or guardian present for this meeting.
Robotics is doing a lot of new things this year! If you attended the meeting last year, please come again this year to hear about the new and exciting things they have planned for the year. If you are unable to attend, but would still like to discuss the program, please reach out to Robotics coach Tiffany Chatman at [email protected].
And being too busy is not an excuse, according to coach Chatman. The club is a very flexible program willing to accommodate the best they can to all students who want to be part of the club.
Mount Vernon Cheer Clinic
Friday, Sept. 5, is the deadline to sign up for the Mount Vernon Cheer Clinic.
The clinic will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, after school until 5 p.m. at the Washington Elementary School gym. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable gym style clothes and tennis shoes for practice. Each cheerleader will be given a peanut free snack at practice and a t-shirt to be worn for the performance.
The cheerleaders will perform between the games Friday, Sept. 19, at the Mustang Activity Complex. They will meet at the north end of the track at 6:15pm for a quick practice before we perform on the track in front of the stands. You may pick up your child at the north end of track once we are done performing.
Please wear your Mustang Cheer Clinic shirt to the game.
Cost for the clinic is $30 and checks must be made out to MVHS Cheer.

Lisbon Springville FFA
The Lisbon Springville FFA club will host a kick-off barbecue Sunday, Sept. 14, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Lisbon School Concession stands. Food and yard games will be provided to those wanting to know more about the club.
