Kirkwood spring dean’s list

Kirkwood Community College has released its Dean’s List for the spring 2025 semester. These students have achieved a 3.3 grade point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours at the college. Local students on the list include:

Mechanicsville – Mayson Lehrman, Haven Brown, Marley Dunston.

Mount Vernon – Sara Dierks, Lance Eriksen, Elijah Exley-Schuman, Tommy Ferguson, Mundo Guardado Alfaro, Amelia Hartl, Kelsey Kamerling, Lainey Kelly, Meredith McCollum, Kendall Miner, Abbie Moss, Rafe Pisarik, Mollie Snedden, Amara Williams.

Kameron Brand earns spot on 2025 UW-Whitewater volleyball team

Kameron Brand, a communication sciences and disorders major from Mount Vernon, and graduate of Mount Vernon High School, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team during the 2025 season, which begins August 29.

The Warhawks are predicted to finish second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) in a preseason poll of the league’s head coaches and sports information directors. In 2024, UW-Whitewater finished as national runner-up at the NCAA Division III Championship after winning the WIAC Tournament title. The team posted a 31-4 record for the season.
