Cole Library held their final large group activity for their Summer Reading Program Friday, July 18, with the Prancing Ponies event.
When librarians first arrived to the library, however, they were startled to see Iowa Tree Care was in the area cutting down a dying tree.
“We had our program slated to start at 10 a.m., and they were just starting to cut the tree,” said Cathy Boggs of Cole Library.
Luckily, the professionals were able to fell the tree and vacate the area for the program to be held safely, with a few wayward branches left to clean up.
Attendees were able to meet two ponies from Miracles in Motion – Lucky and Mr. C. Mr. C. is a 30-year old miniature horse, whereas Lucky was a pony.
