Cecilia Miranda, 26, Cedar Rapids and a young child were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Mount Vernon Road and Highway 13. Miranda and a child were transported to an area hospital by Area Ambulance with minor injuries. Miranda was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the child was in a child seat at the time of the crash.
According to Sgt. David Omar of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were paged to a crash Sunday, July 6, at 6:45 p.m.
Responders arrived to find a Chevy Trailblazer, driven by Lori Vislisel, 62, of Mount Vernon, was eastbound on Mount Vernon Road when she collided with a Nissan Rogue driven by Miranda. The Nissan flipped and landed on its top in the northbound lane of Hwy 13, just to the south of Mount Vernon Road. The Trailblazer was able to pull to the shoulder on Mount Vernon Road east of Highway 13.
Vislisel was cited for failure to obey traffic control device.
