Deloras Marie Viktor, 72, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, in Colorado. Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., today (Thursday, May 29, 2025) Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services in Mount Vernon. Burial will happen at Barker Cemetery, in Downing, Mo.
Deloras was born on July 19, 1952, in Bloomfield, the daughter of Elmer and Lucille (McDonough) Wilson.
Deloras graduated from Kennedy High School in 1971. After High School, she worked at Rockwell Collins and Junction Auto. Deloras gave birth to her daughter, Marie, in December 1979 and has always lived close by her daughter in Mount Vernon. Deloras later worked for many years at the Mount Vernon Post Office. After retirement, Deloras moved to Colorado in 2017 with her daughter, Marie. She enjoyed traveling home to Iowa to see family and friends and being with Marie! She enjoyed driving through Garden of the Gods and stopping to get that fudge! Chocolate, of course! She was always there to help out however she could. She enjoyed laughing, pranks, and being sassy. Deloras also enjoyed good old 50’s rock and roll Music, traveling, and researching family history.
Deloras left a lasting impression on all that she met and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
Deloras is survived by her daughter, Marie (Michael Novak) Viktor; brother, Miles (Marilyn) Wilson; niece, Tiffany (Corey) Elwick; nephews, Austin (Kirby Patten) Wilson, and Logan Wilson; great-nephews, Brantley and Axel; and longtime friend, Sherin Novak; and her dog, Lucy.
Deloras was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Wilson, and ex-husband/longtime friend, Joseph Viktor.
