The Kids Fun Run kicked off the annual celebration of Heritage Days in Mount Vernon Friday, July 12, at the Martha Parsons Family Activity Complex. Kids ages infant through 10 took turns racing on the Armstrong Family football field.
The kids raced two races, one running like normal and the second added a fun twist. The second race kids were instructed to crawl, somersault, or run backward. To finish the racing, some of the fathers of the kids had their own race.
Tired from his race in the dad’s fun run, Jason Williams said, “It’s so fun, man. I grew up here and now travel from Colorado to come. [The kids] love coming back and look forward to [Heritage Days] every year for it.”
