The Washignton Elementary Teachers and Parents group held a Bounce into Summer event Friday, May 19, at the Mount Vernon School’s outdoor track, with more than 300 in attendance at the event.
Inflatables, games, free popsicles and popcorn, a book draw and first responders were all present at the game.
Myleena Grenis, one of the many who helped plan the event, said work had started on this year’s event back in the March area, right after spring break.
“We wanted to provide students and their families with a super fun event before the end of the school year,” Grenis said.
A hula hoop contest was held for different age groups, with the winner getting a free ice cream from the Bass Farms ice cream booth.
As well, the AirFlight helicopter from Saint Luke’s Hospital was one of the first responders that arrived at the event, landing on the field at roughly 5:15 p.m. and taking off at 7 p.m.
