The Lisbon boys varsity golf team suffered some lumps last week (two losses, to make only a total of four for the season), but are still firmly in control of the Tri-Rivers East with a conference record of 17-4. Second-place Midland is way back at 2-2.
Monday, April 24The Lions were at their own Kernoustie Monday where their guests, East Buchanan, got the better of them by eight strokes, 161-169.
The day’s low total on the nine-hole course came from East Buchanan’s Hayden Nelson, with a 36.
Lisbon’s Indy Harbaugh was hot on his heels in second place, shooting a 37.
Wednesday, April 26
A four-way 18-hole match in Maquoketa found the Lions placing second, with Vinton-Shellsburg winning the day as a team and individually, with Easton Almquist claiming the day’s low score of 80.
Brayden Boots turned in the top performance for Lisbon, shooting an 85 for a fourth-place finish.
Friday, April 28The Lions were back on top at Edgewood-Colesburg, placing first out of four total teams with their very own Brayden Boots shooting the day’s low of 39.
