Book event in Anamosa features art of local artist

Local author Richard Tapia will be hosting a book event at the General Store in Anamosa Saturday, July 11, from 1:30-4:30 p.m.

The book, “Art in Small Places,” highlights art in Jones County and features work from many artists, including Mount Vernon’s Bob Campagna.

The event includes Two Scoops Ice Cream and a cash bar, as well as music by The Mike Maas Group

SELCC holds free Community Eats! dinner July 16

Southeast Linn Community Center’s next Community Eats! will be held on Thursday, July 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at SELCC. We’ll be serving sloppy joes, mac and cheese, potato salad, cole slaw, chips, and fresh fruit. Dine in or carry out. The free dinner is open to residents of Lisbon, Mount Vernon, and the surrounding areas. All ages are welcome, and there is no registration required.
