Linn County Food Pantry map now available
Linn County residents in need of food assistance can now find food pantry locations online using a single website. Linn County and its community partners recently collaborated to create a comprehensive food pantry map for Linn County. Residents can select a pin on the map to see information about the selected food pantry including services provided, hours of operation, location address, contact information, and directions (walking, driving, and bus routes) to the pantry location.

“This interactive map is another example of Linn County’s ongoing commitment to helping our neighbors meet their most basic needs. We are thankful for our partnership with the HACAP Food Reservoir and the local food pantries that provide free, nutritious food who regularly update this resource,” said Linn County supervisor Sami Scheetz. “By making information about local food pantries easy to find, we’re ensuring that residents facing food insecurity can quickly connect to the support that’s available. Fighting hunger takes all of us – and this tool is one more way we’re working together toward the shared goal of ensuring that no one in Linn County goes hungry.”
“The SNAP program is a lifeline for thousands of families in our community. If these benefits pause beginning November 1, more people than ever will be searching for food resources. A collaboration between Linn County and HACAP allowed us to create this interactive map that provides detailed resources for families in our entire service area,” said HACAP Food Reservoir Executive Director Kim Guardado.
To request adding a food pantry location to the Linn County map or if you are an agency representative needing to modify or update your information, please follow the instructions posted on the Community Resources page of the Linn County website.
Resources for Veterans
Starting November 1, Linn County Veteran Services will expand food assistance for local veterans and their families by providing supplemental aid of up to 50% of each veteran’s SNAP benefit amount. The assistance will be provided in the form of Fareway gift cards that veterans and their families can use to purchase food and household essentials, excluding alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets. The expanded assistance aims to help veterans meet immediate food and nutritional needs and encourages the use of community-based resources such as local food banks and pantries. Eligibility will be verified through official correspondence from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services dated on or after November 1. Linn County Veteran Services will reevaluate this program every two weeks to ensure it meets community needs and aligns with available local and state resources.
Linn County Online Resource Hub
Linn County’s online community resource hub helps residents easily find assistance to meet their needs. The interactive platform connects users with local resources for affordable housing, childcare, employment, food assistance, health care, legal help, and transportation. Residents can search or map nearby services and access the most current information, which is regularly updated by community partners. The online hub complements Linn County’s long-standing community resource sheets, which remain available in downloadable PDF form.
