The Tuesday Morning Book Club at Cole Library will be meeting August 19 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. The group meets in Room 108, which is the large meeting room on the First Floor of the Library.

At the August Meeting, the group will be reading and discussing the book Code Talker: The First and Only Memoir By One of the Original Navajo Code Talkers of WWII by Chester Nez. Mary Dieker will review the book and lead the discussion.

From the publisher comes this summary of the book: “His name wasn’t Chester Nez. That was the English name he was assigned in kindergarten. And in boarding school at Fort Defiance, he was punished for speaking his native language, as the teachers sought to rid him of his culture and traditions.
