Even though winter has us in its cold and icy grip, spring will come again. To help us think about spring and prepare for its return, Master Gardener Sue Murphy is hosting a workshop on winter seed sowing.
The program is Tuesday, Jan 28 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 108 on Cole Library’s first floor. Sue will teach participants how to make a functioning greenhouse for seeds using a milk jug. This technique allows you to start your seeds outside in February or March. When you are ready to put them in the ground in the spring, there is no need to harden off your seedlings.
Sue will demonstrate how to prepare the jugs and keep them going until Spring. Seeds and soil will be provided, but please bring a clean gallon milk jug. This program is free and open to all.
