Molly Donahue was among the elected officials who was at Mount Vernon Heritage Days festival this weekend. Donahue noted this isn’t her first visit to Mount Vernon, as she’s toured the entire district over the past two years since announcing she was running for Linn County Supervisor.
“The issues that matter to me the most are those that impact my neighbors,” Donahue said. “While I’ve been a Senator for a number of years and do get contacted on issues, many times it’s from people in other districts whose own legislators weren’t listening or hearing their concerns.”
One instance of that was on the AEA decision, where Donahue said she had received more than 8,000 emails, many from other districts, just wanting their views to be heard.
Donahue said the most important thing for her is to do what she can to help make citizens lives in Linn County better, and why she is running for the Linn County Board of Supervisors.
“For me, it is important that these small communities like Mount Vernon and Lisbon have their concerns addressed,” Donahue said. “I know there is a chance they are going to be impacted by some of the decisions made at the statehouse over the past years, as well as know they are being listened to.”
Donahue also knows some of the issues that impact farmers, as she has a small farm of her own.
She is looking to carry on and be a supporter for all the communities in Linn County.
Donahue is running against Brandy Zumbach Meisheid for the Linn County District 3 seat this November.
