The Lisbon girls’ golf team finished third against some strong competition on Monday, April 29, at the Washington Invitational at Washington Country Club.
The Lions carded a 399, finishing behind Pleasant Valley (333) and Highland (372). Kaylie Kelchen had the low round for Lisbon with an 88.
“I was pleased with how the girls competed against a strong field of teams on a course none of them had played before,” Lisbon Coach Andy Kahl said. “We’re really close to putting it all together as a team.”
Eryn Jackson shot her 9-hole low for the season on the back nine.
The Lions then defeated Edgewood-Colesburg 174-209 on Tuesday, April 30, in their final home meet of the season at Kernoustie Golf Course. The 174 was a season low.
“I’m proud of how the girls played,” Kahl said. “Kaylie had a two-birdie round and shot a season-best 36 on Senior Night.”
On Thursday, May 2, at Preston Valley Golf Course, the Lions fell to Easton Valley, 174 to 185.
