The Mount Vernon boys track team took a full squad to the Pacha Relays on Thursday, April 25, at Clear Creek Amana in Tiffin.
Grady Olberding and Dawson Scheil went 1-2 in the mile, and Olberding crushed the meet record. He finished in 4:25.18, breaking the old mark of 4:37.48, set in 2013.
Other winners included Stanley Krob in the long jump and the 4×800 team of Shelton Poteat, Dawson Scheil, Seamus O’Connor and Olberding.
“It ended up being a pretty good night for us as we ran some season bests,” Whitman said. “The guys are improving each meet which is great as we get closer to the end of the season.”
