April is Architecture Month. The Iowa chapter of The American Institute of Architects is partnering with Cole Library to inspire young patrons to think about how architecture impacts their lives, what an architect does, and that becoming an architect someday is an attainable goal.
We have a display in the Children’s Room with books about architecture and a free Bee an Architect activity and coloring book.
Lego Club will introduce an architecture theme for their April 23 meeting. Participants can choose to have their photo taken with their Lego creation to be part of the Bee an Architect initiative.
Since Mount Vernon is a town with a lot of wonderful architecture, I hope you will think of the people behind the buildings during Architecture Month.
