Mount Vernon boys shook the rust off and competed in the 11-team Clear Creek Amana Invitational Thursday, April 4, in Tiffin.
“It was great to finally get out and compete,” Mount Vernon coach Ryan Whitman said. “Even in the cold weather, we had some good performances, which was great to have.”
The Mustangs captured two golds Thursday. Grady Olberding won the 3,200 in 10 minutes, 8.87 seconds. The junior also ran anchor on the winning distance medley relay with Colin Bentley, Gabe Fairchild, and Braxton Pitlik.
In addition, the co-ed Williamsburg Invitation, scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, was postponed to Monday, April 15, due to snow and rain.
