Billy Gene Lange, age 74, of Mount Vernon, passed away at his home Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Bill was born Oct. 11, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Harry Victor and Wiona Walaska (Ohrt) Lange. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1967. On October 12, 1968, he was united in marriage to Connie Sue Forest. Bill was a long-term owner and operator of Lange’s Service Station in Mount Vernon. He enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, 60s country music and having a cold Miller Lite. Bill was proud to donate to any cause and was a huge supporter of his community and the school district. He would do anything for anyone, and if he couldn’t, he would find a way to get it done. Bill loved family get togethers and especially following his grandchildren’s events. Nothing made him more proud then watching his grandchildren doing what they love.
