Cornell’s Audrey Small, Isabella Wallin, and Ashley Mink each garnered two wins as the Rams took down the Seahawks of St. Mary’s College of Maryland 7-2 in their spring break finale dual match on Monday in South Carolina.
The Rams (11-6) went 2-1 in doubles play with Small and Wallin earning their fifth straight victory together, behind an 8-0 shutout at No. 3 doubles. Mink and Tansy Graves also earned an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 to give Cornell a lead heading into singles play.
Small (6-0, 6-3) and Mink (6-1, 6-1) secured their fifth straight singles wins respectively at No. 3 and No. 5. Mac Graves clinched the meet for the Rams earning a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2, while Ashley Drake (6-1, 6-1) and Wallin (6-2, 3-6, 10-5) closed out the day securing wins of their own.
At No. 1, Tansy Graves was edged by Cleopatra Solomon in a tight three set battle, 7-5, 1-6, 7-10.
