The Linn County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on March 27 at 9 a.m. on the proposed fiscal year 2025 property tax levy. The public hearing will be held at the Linn County Public Service Center, 935 Second St. SW in Cedar Rapids.
The official public hearing notice, including details on the proposed property tax levy, is available on Linn County’s website LinnCountyIowa.gov. At the public hearing any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of, the proposed tax levy.
After the hearing of the proposed tax levy, the Board of Supervisors will publish notice and hold a public hearing on the proposed Linn County budget for fiscal year 2025, which begins July 1.
The public can sign up to receive notices of meeting agendas at LinnCountyIowa.gov. Minutes and videos of Board of Supervisors meetings are also available on Linn County’s website.
The Linn County Board of Supervisors works with the County’s Finance & Budget staff, other elected officials, and department heads to develop Linn County’s annual budget over a three-month period during more than 20 public meetings.
Fiscal year 2025 begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2025.
