Yes, they liked them in a house.
Yes, they liked them with a mouse.
Yes, they liked those Green Eggs and Ham.
Lisbon Library director Elizabeth Hoover de Galvez utilized the adjacent kitchen at Southeast Linn Community Center Monday, March 11, to hold a unique story time as part of the spring break activities at Lisbon Library.
More than 20 youth and adults were in attendance Monday for the story time.
To begin the day, attendees were asked to break egg shells and stir the eggs with milk. Three volunteers worked at slicing ham into tiny cubes to be stirred into the egg and milk measures.
Manny Galvez, Elizabeth’s husband, worked in the kitchen to make a mixture of scrambled eggs and ham, while participants listened to a reading of the Dr. Seuss classic book “Green Eggs and Ham.”
Hoover de Galvez said she is interested in doing similar story times that embrace a cooking element again in the future.
“I know it’s kind of messy, but it’s also kind of fun,” Hoover de Galvez said.
